What is Schutzhund?

Schutzhund is a sport that focuses on developing and evaluating those traits in dogs that make them more fulfilled and happier companions to their owners. Schutzhund /IPO is an evaluation test to proof that the dog is worth breeding. It is a performance sport that combines Tracking- Obedience- Protection all in one

USCA

The United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USCA) is a proud member club of the World Union of German Shepherd Dog Clubs (WUSV) and the American Working Dog Federation (AWDF).

Working Dog Sport

This working dog sport offers an opportunity for dog owners to train their dog and compete with each other for recognition of both the handler’s ability to train and the dog’s ability to perform as required

Comunity

It is a sport enjoyed by persons of varied professions, who join together in a camaraderie born of their common interest in working with their dogs. Persons of all ages and conditions of life enjoy Schutzhund as a sport.

Why Schutzhund

Schutzhund is an advanced partnership with the dog – true teamwork. Rather than a mere few minutes of performance, it is a triathalon for dogs. It’s like Michelin Tire said: “Power is nothing without control.”
